JOB DESCRIPTIONAt Sinclair, we are looking for an Associate Product Owner who is passionate about building software products that users love. This role is at the heart of our product development, focusing on delivering impactful outcomes, solving real user problems, and continuously learning and adapting in a fast-paced environment. This role works closely with senior members of the Product team delivering software for internal corporate users at Sinclair and is ideal for someone looking to expand their expertise and impact in guiding product development from concept to launch.
Required Experience & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
- 1-2 years of Product Management experience.
- Must be extremely comfortable using and troubleshooting intricate software.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively about complex problems.
- A proactive and positive attitude in addressing challenges and opportunities.
- High adaptability and flexibility, including deadline pressure, ambiguity, and change.
- Sincere curiosity and a passion for continuous learning.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and lead without authority.
- Experience with Agile Scrum development methodologies.
- Ability to create world-class requirements documentation (agile stories, PRDs, etc.)
- Natural empathy for customers and commitment to discovering and solving their problems.
- Ability to use both quantitative and qualitative data to drive product decisions.
- Competence in identifying key metrics and interpreting trends and results.
Responsibilities:
- User Discovery and Requirements Gathering:
- Conduct user research to understand their needs and challenges.
- Translate user insights into clear and actionable product requirements.
- Solution Development:
- Collaborate with technical teams to develop feasible product solutions.
- Participate in brainstorming and design sessions.
- Backlog Management:
- Create and prioritize product backlog items, such as user stories and bugs.
- Maintain a clear, transparent, and accessible backlog for all stakeholders.
- Scrum Team Liaison:
- Act as the main interface with the scrum team, guiding them on product backlog items.
- Participate in scrum ceremonies and provide necessary clarifications.
- Subject Matter Expertise:
- Develop in-depth knowledge of your assigned product areas.
- Serve as a go-to resource for both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Product Artifacts:
- Develop and maintain essential product documentation, including Product Requirement Documents (PRDs).
- Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and clearly communicates product vision and requirements.
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT):
- Organize and conduct UAT sessions, gathering and integrating user feedback.

The base salary compensation range for this role is $63,000 to $79,000 Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, 15 paid vacation days, 2 paid personal days, 9 paid holidays, 40 hours of paid sick leave, parental leave, and employee stock purchase plan.
